For Foster Families
I am in awe of the Halo program! This group of young adults have worked to bridge a huge gap of mentorship needs in our community. I have watched them work their magic with dozens of kiddos, including my own. My boys absolutely love and enjoy their time with the young men and women at their events they host in our community. Witnessing everyone come together and spend quality time is incredibly fulfilling as a parent. The members of Halo are absolutely wonderful with massive hearts and beautiful souls! I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation enough for all they do!

FAQs
Who can attend Halo events?
Our events are designed for foster children that are supported by Children’s Network of SWFL. Each event may have specific age ranges or activities, and those details will be listed in the event description.
Do we need to register ahead of time?
Yes, registration helps us plan for food, activities and supplies. Please CONTACT US to let us know if you are interested in attending a future HALO event.
Is there any cost to attend?
No. All Halo events are free to foster families, thanks to our volunteers and donors.
What should we bring with us?
Typically, just yourselves! If an event requires anything specific (like swimwear, jackets, or permission slips), we’ll include those details in the event information.
Can siblings or other family members come?
In most cases, siblings living in the same household are welcome to join. If space is limited for a particular event, we’ll note that in the registration details.
Will there be food provided?
Many of our events include snacks or meals. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know when registering so we can accommodate.
Who supervises the kids at events?
Foster parents and guardians remain responsible for their children during the event. Our student volunteers help lead activities, but they are not a substitute for parental supervision.
How often do events take place?
We host events throughout the school year and sometimes during summer. Check the News & Events page for the most current schedule.
For Students
How to volunteer
Become a part of the Halo team and help us plan and execute our events. You’ll gain valuable experience, earn community service hours (which can count towards NHS and CAS requirements), and have the chance to lead and inspire others. We collaborate with the Children’s Network of SWFL to identify and invite foster children to participate in our events, ensuring we reach those who can benefit most. As a Halo member, you’ll be directly involved in this process!
How to start a Halo club/chapter at their school
We are always looking to grow our organization and impact throughout SWFL. If you are interested in starting a chapter at your High School, please contact us!
