Our Story

Our Foundation
The Halo Project began with a simple idea: every foster child deserves a day filled with fun, happiness, and connection. Fort Myers High School student Sophia Fox turned that idea into reality by organizing Halo, a student-led club with branches at both Fort Myers High School and Canterbury School. Halo is dedicated to making a positive impact on foster children in Lee County.
Our Mission
Committed to making a difference in the lives of foster children in Lee County by offering healing, connection, love, and outreach.
Leadership

Sophia Fox
Sophia Fox founded HALO (Helping and Leading Others) to support foster children and create a community of kindness that fosters connections. A dedicated student and leader at Fort Myers High School, Sophia has been involved in service and mentorship for years, with over 150 community service hours, primarily with the Amigos Center and the Immokalee community. Under her leadership, HALO has grown to over 100 members. The organization hosts drives, fundraisers, and volunteer programs that provide essentials, mentorship, and encouragement to children in foster care.
Sophia is passionate about giving young people a voice. At FMHS, she leads the Book Club and NEHS. In her free time, she loves to read and write. If she isn’t doing one of the two, you could find her walking on the beach or spending time with her big Argentinian family.
